Sapphire Auto Fuel and Sapphire Secure Fuel have been developed to specifically reduce human error and improve security. Thanks to the automatic identification process the fuelling process is significantly quicker improving the overall efficiency of your fleets refuelling operation.
The MCS Sapphire Auto Fuel solution confirms vehicle registration automatically removing the need to manually enter vehicle details.
Long range readers installed at the end of each lane look for approaching vehicles which stop in the fuelling area. RFID tags installed to the windscreen of the vehicle are identified on approach sending the details wirelessly to the MCS Sapphire terminal.
The Sapphire terminal then communicates in realtime to the MCS Live web portal to authenticate the vehicle and available products before the fuelling process can begin.

Sapphire Secure Fuel
Secure Fuel features automatic vehicle identification with nozzle security. A robust nozzle reader communicates with the vehicle ID tag when the nozzle is inserted into the vehicle fill point. Pump and vehicle details are sent to the Sapphire terminal which communicates in realtime to the MCS Live web portal to authenticate the vehicle and available products before the pump can be activated. The pump is immediately deactivated when it is removed from the fill point preventing unauthorised fuelling.

The MCS SecureFuel Nozzle is a ruggedized, intrinsically safe RFID reader, used for Fuelling Management Systems (FMS).
The unique ring-mount design allows durable fixation on a wide range of fuel filling nozzles.
The unit turns a filling nozzle into an RFID reader that is automatically activated when the nozzle is tilted. The Nozzle Unit is designed to work in combination with Sapphire SecureFuel Vehicle Tags as RFID front-end for Fuel Management Systems.
As soon as the Nozzle Unit detects a corresponding vehicle tag, the tag’s unique ID and required fuel information is sent via an encrypted channel to the Sapphire terminal, which decides if and how much fuel to dispense. Once the nozzle is removed from the vehicle, and the vehicle tag can no longer be read, the nozzle unit notifies the fuel management system to stop the fuel dispersion.
The MCS Sapphire SecureFuel Nozzle Unit includes a dual-colour led that indicates whether the unit is operational and a tag was successfully read. The rugged housing makes the Nozzle Unit resistant to typical fuelling environments and rain water. Its tamper evident removal detection feature prevents potential fuel theft.
